  5. The album was produced by George Martin and recorded at his own AIR studios. Martin also composed string arrangements for two of the tracks, "Scatterbrain" and "Diamond Dust". Stevie Wonder returned the favor of Beck's work on his LP Talking Book, by playing on "Blow by Blow"and contributing the song "Thelonius".
  6. In the wake of a horrific car crash, Beck rebounded with "Rough and Ready" (’71) and the Steve Cropper-produced "Jeff Beck Group" (’72). On those two LPs, he fused rock with jazz and soul; he took the approach yet further on his George-Martin produced masterpiece "Blow by Blow," a #4 LP in the U.S. (his biggest hit).
  7. The last album in the classic run of Steely Dan – the final taste we'd have of the group until their surprising revival in the 90s! Gaucho picks up beautifully where Aja left off – warmly produced with a deep undercurrent of jazz, but perhaps a bit more down to earth feel at times too LP, Vinyl record album.

Jul 29,  · Jeff Beck Blow by Blow Discussion in 'The Amps, I don't know but not much of it (maybe "Freeway Jam" and the wah-wah rhythm guitar on "Thelonious" but that's about it) sounds like any kind of Marshall to me. I'm guessing a smallish Fender or Ampeg and definitely some fuzz. Listening to Blow By Blow right now on vinyl, such a great album.
